Hornbeam (Carpinus)
£143.00 - £626.00*
The timber of the Hornbeam had traditionally been used to produce mallets, skittles and even the moving parts of pianos. It is a large tree with a characteristic grey fluted trunk with ovate, ribbed and serrated leaves which turn a lovely clear yellow in autumn. It is a tough British native and looks particularly fine when planted in groups.
