A great tree where space is at a premium, this tightly columnar cultivar is grown retaining its lower branches to maximize the number of semi double shell pink flowers in late April / early May. The young leaves are a copper bronze and it is tolerant of most soils, including calcareous ones. Like other cherries, it is not fond of waterlogged ground.
